Christmas wishes from the Social Sec.

21st December 2019

Christmas wishes from the Social Sec.

Dear all

With the festive season now fast approaching, I wanted to briefly wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year.

My thanks to all who have joined the social events from Barnes Bridge and Cygnet during the course of 2019 to make the boathouse and beyond such a vibrant and friendly place. As we all know rowing is rarely just about life on the water, it's the community and family off the water that make it, so my thanks to all who have pitched in with the Thursday Suppers during the year and those from both clubs who have helped out with the social events of 2019 or simply come along to share their good company.

The attached picture is a throwback to the Christmas Waddle last weekend, a fine evening of merriment and good company.

Just a reminder that despite the unfortunate cancellation of Plum Puddings tomorrow, the club will still be playing host to the Cygnet VIII Boat Naming tomorrow, please do pop along and celebrate the occasion.

2020 is a big year for Cygnets with Club, Boathouse and Bungalow anniversaries all taking place along with more social activity for you all to join in with. Watch out for Burns Night, Quizzes and Pub Waddles to keep the dark winter nights at bay as we enter the new year and head towards Spring. Of course we look forward to the usual faces at Thursday suppers and hopefully some new comers joining as well.

That just leaves me to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, with all best wishes for 2020 - may the waters be calm, your boat set and your glass be ever full.

Warmest wishes

Rupert
