ROWING INCIDENTS
Use the British Rowing On-line Incident Reporting system
Repots can be made anonymously but preferably log-in first so that you can be contacted if further details are required. Reports are important for statistical purposes and to improve both safety and navigation on the river. They can be incidents that involve any other craft, not just rowing boats. Types of incident that should be reported include:
• Capsize
• Collision
• Near miss
• Washing down
• Grounding
• Poor or reckless navigation
• Incorrect lighting
• Foul language or abusive behaviour
INCIDENTS INVOLVING MOTOR VESSELS
Call London VTS (Vehicle Traffic Services) on 020 32607711
For all incidents concerning inconsiderate behaviour or navigation by a motor vessel. If such incidents are reported immediately, that vessel can often be apprehended and dealt with by the PLA.
Such incident can be reported via the British Rowing system but that really only helps with statistics.
