The Centenary Ball
This black tie event will be held on Saturday 24th September 2022 at the Richmond Hill Hotel
So what are we celebrating? The pandemic has caused us to miss a few significant anniversaries over the last couple of years:
2020 saw 100 years since Cygnet RC purchased No.38 Hamhaugh Island, now our beloved "Bungalow"
2021 was the 100th anniversary of our "Mothership", the Civil Service Sports Council, founded in November 1921.
2022 marks an anniversary that we really mustn’t miss – the centenary of the foundation of BBLRC and its forerunner Civil Service Ladies RC, which can trace their roots back to March 1922.
And lastly, from a Cygnet perspective; former captain, erstwhile coxswain, Exec. stalwart and current Cygnet secretary Marjorie Israël is hanging-up her shorthand pad after 25 years at the club and taking herself home to Aruba for a well-earned retirement.
What more excuse do we need for a big, posh, post-pandemic get-together and knees-up? We've had some damn fine parties over the years and this one promises to be no exception, so get your best rig out of mothballs and off to the dry cleaners – you won't regret it!
The Centenary Ball is open to current members and former members of Cygnet and BBLRC or invited guests only – plus their partners
