Centenary Ball

27th September 2022

Well, that turned out to be quite an evening.

Over 120 members and friends gathered together to celebrate not only several notable anniversaries but more importantly, simply being a part of two fantastic rowing clubs.

Guests were drawn from the current, active membership right back to those who can remember when flannel shorts and baggy vest were the thing to wear while afloat. However, on Saturday night they had swapped rowing kit for glad rags and were all looking absolutely splendid.

Drinks were sipped, a delicious meal consumed, toasts and speeches made, medals awarded and thank yous presented. Then dancing, a lot of dancing!

A huge thank you to the organisers for making it happen, to all the staff at the Richmond Hill Hotel for their hospitality and to the excellent Jamestown London for keeping us all well entertained late into the night. And also to everyone who came together to celebrate over 100 years of our rowing clubs.

Long may they both continue.
