Eights Heads Weekend

Another brilliant weekend of racing on the Tideway! 

The Cygnet VIII (#320) achieved a fantastic result at Eights Head finishing 269th (gaining 51 places) and 4th in the Small Club category (out of 10)

The crew were: Clara F (cox), Dom M, Tom C, Charles J, Jordan H, Ollie R, Benjy H, Mickey W, Matt G.

We were also delighted to once again welcome our friends from RG Benrath who entered two boats into Vets Head (one ladies and one gents). There was plenty of beer consumed throughout the weekend as we kicked off our 60th Anniversary celebrations.

Congratulations to all racing crews and a huge thank you to all race volunteers and supporters. We are one of the bigger boating venues for all the main Head races and are only able to facilitate so many visiting crews thanks to the efforts of volunteer from both clubs.

Also a special mention to Mustafa who spent his last weekend as Bar Steward, after 7 years in the role. We made sure he went out on a high with his successor Pete, having other make several emergency trips to stock up on more beer! 

Our thoughts also extend to the crew, friends and family of the competitor who very sadly passed away while racing in Sunday’s competition.
