Cygnet Weekly Update
16th May 2017
Cygnets,
Tim introduced us to us to his World Cup ultra training session on steroids [sic] guaranteed to turn us into winners or at least kill us in the process - 20 x 20 strokes at 2k, 3 strokes recovery, followed by 20 starts to first 20 strokes, all done with resistance bungees on the boat. Let's see what difference it makes at Twickenham regatta on the 27th.
And two learn to row crews out on Saturday making good progress and unrecognisable from the guys who took to the water for the first time just a couple of weeks ago.
It's the final sessions of the Learn to Row course this week with a BBQ (weather permitting) after the outing on Sunday. We hope that the LTR students have got the rowing bug and will want to carry on after the course rowing at Cygnet as full members of the club.
And I've put entries into Twickenham Regatta including two Nov 4+ crews. There is the time to get 8 outings in between now and race day, so get your availability up to date online and take advantage of the light evenings to get water time during the week.
The provisional crews are:
Nov 4+ A
Sam, Scott, Cris, Robin
Nov 4+ B
Ian S, Vasil, Bjarne, Niall
Singles sculls
Cris (Nov), Robin (Nov), Jez (MasE)
If anyone wants to enter any event please let me know asap, entries close on Saturday but the event could fill up before then.
So this week:
Tuesday: 7pm Weights and core training (unsupervised)
